Untitled

And sometimes there are things I can't say out loud
but paper always listens and would never betray
And sometimes it just hurts so much
Only words will absorb the pain
And sometimes I feel so incredibly empty
Only my self-indulgent poetry fills up the space

so the next time you feel you want to criticize
please, just realize...

that this is all that I have

and I know I can't write
But at least allow me to try
And if I want to call this poetry
The least you could do is pretend with me

No need to pretend as far as I'm concerned. :)

Also, some written verses could double as lyrics, while others - not so much. I'm no expert but I'd put these in the former category.

Definitely no need to pretend. I feel this way more times than I can say. *HUG*
